This week I've really been thinking about how TV/Netflix affects me. I don't watch very much TV normally but I do notice that watching shows that I've watched all my life does help me when I'm stressed out. I love Friends and have since I was little. I remember watching the last episode when it came out with my Mom when I was 7 and crying. Haha I probably didn't understand majority of what was going on but I loved those characters on the show and spending time with my Mom. I've watched every episode countless times and it just always puts me in a good mood. I don't normally watch more than 2 episodes total per week but it's just enough to help me feel good and calm down from whatever is going on. I think we definitely have emotional connections to TV shows as funny as that sounds!
I've never really been one to have a set rule on when it's okay to start listening to Christmas music. I think Thanksgiving is awesome but I don't think there should be a problem with listening to Christmas music for a month or two leading up to Christmas. I love the Christmas Spirit that it brings and the memories it brings back hearing certain songs. What do you guys think? Is there a certain date that Christmas music is okay to listen to?
I completely agree with what you shared here! I feel the same way. There are definitely shows that help me when I'm stressed out, and some that I watch when I need to take a break and relax. Some shows that I've liked since I was little, and still love because of that connection, my wife hates and has no idea why I have interest in them haha. All the emotional connections!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about the shows I watched when I was younger. Me and my sister would watch gilmore girls and now every time I watch it I feel calm and like I'm at home.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen Friends, but I can relate in that certain things in media (music, books, or shows) that can help me mentally take a break from life.
