I served my mission in the Rome Italy Mission and one of the coolest things about being home is being able to listen to Italian music and understand it. I loved Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban's Italian songs before my mission but knowing what it's saying is awesome. There's a new song I've been listening to recently that I love! It's called "Poesia senza veli" by Ultimo. It's a cute song that's really catchy. I've noticed that the more Italian music I listen to, the easier it gets to understand. I learn new words and ways to phrase things besides just "missionary lingo".
I've never really been one to have a set rule on when it's okay to start listening to Christmas music. I think Thanksgiving is awesome but I don't think there should be a problem with listening to Christmas music for a month or two leading up to Christmas. I love the Christmas Spirit that it brings and the memories it brings back hearing certain songs. What do you guys think? Is there a certain date that Christmas music is okay to listen to?
That is awesome! I am sure that it is a wonderful way for you to feel connected to this part of your history and to appreciate the culture.
ReplyDeleteWe just watched a movie in Italian in my Spanish class, it's such a fun language!
ReplyDeleteI think it's so awesome that you are able to take the music you love and the language you love and combine them together to create something you love even more!
